When the device has no desktop build to install
Desktop MetaTrader builds are made for Windows and macOS, which leaves a gap on everything else. A browser platform closes that gap, because what it needs is a current browser rather than a particular operating system. The page that works on an office desktop works on a school laptop, a tablet or a handset, and none of them has anything added to it.
Timing makes the flexibility worth having in Pakistan. Local time is UTC+5 all year, so with European clocks on winter time the London session opens around 13:00 and the New York session around 18:00, each an hour earlier in the northern summer. The later hours carry on into the night, by which point the device in front of a trader is rarely the one the day started on.
Switching between them costs nothing beyond signing in again, and the machine that was used first keeps no trading software once the tab is closed. Where a fuller workspace is wanted, the desktop and mobile applications remain available for the devices that can run them.
